Welcome to Mountain Vista UU
the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northwest Tucson!

Join us on Sundays at 10:30 am. Explore an open religion.

We are a growing religious community of 150 members and friends, accepting and engaging in many paths to truth. Reason, experience and wisdom are our guides to spiritual growth. Our minister, the Reverend Joy Atkinson, is helping to guide us through this time of transition between our last settled minister and our next, which we expect will be called by the congregation in the Spring of 2012. The Rev. Joy Atkinson is an Accredited Interim Minister with the Unitarian Universalist Association. Rev. Joy finds the time of transition between settled ministers to be a fertile time in a congregation’s life, full of potential for growth, experimentation and positive change.

our living EarthWe are a welcoming congregation, and our members include people of all races, abilities and beliefs - young and old, families and singles, even agnostics and atheists. We celebrate diversity and seek to engage one another in our full humaness. As a Welcoming Congregation, we reach out to bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people.

We are an accredited Green Sanctuary and focus our Collective Ministry on activities that we can do as individuals, a congregation, and with other groups to help the sustainability of our living Earth.

Our members form a community that challenges, encourages, and supports one another as we search for truth and understanding. Our faith is non-creedal and our congregation is a part of the national Unitarian Universalist Association of Congregations, whose members seek to follow several basic principles. You can learn more about our beliefs by viewing a video about UUs. There's more to learn About Us and our church, too!
