Environmental Justice |
- Our church will join with environmental groups who participate in the Friends of the Ironwood Forest, the Bureau of Land Management, and other religious and educational organizations to help protect the biological, geological, archeological, and historical resources and values for which the Ironwood Forest National Monument was established. We will participate in clean-ups, removal of invasive species, and educational events. -

- We will team with the Institute for the Study of Planet Earth, a University of Arizona group, and other religious organizations, to sponsor activities that will lower our use of carbon-based fuels and our contribution to global warming. - Leaders: David S. and Jim G.

Sustainable Living |
- Car-pool to Church - Leader: Victoria G. Sunday, November 11, 2007. Our church will cut down on carbon emissions and other air pollutants by car-pooling on our “Car-pool to Church Sunday.”
- Simplicity Circle - Leader: Sybelle vE. Participants will be enabled to lead a more sustainable lifestyle through mutual support, information sharing and accountability.
- Solar Energy - Leader: Larry E. In a class held at the church our members will learn how to reduce air pollution and the consumption of natural resources through the use of solar energy in the home.
- Organic and Vegetarian Eating - Leader: Marion E. Meat production and industrial fruit and vegetable production are second and third after transportation on the list of the most damaging things we do to the environment. Our projects include:
- A vegan cooking class
- A class on the benefits of organic eating
- Emphasis on vegetarian eating at our all-congregation events
- An organic produce exchange on Sundays
- Water Conservation - Leader: David W. We will install a water harvesting system and drip irrigation for our church flower beds that require water.
- Non-Toxic Supplies - Leader: David W. We will convert our church practices to use the least toxic cleaning supplies available.
- Recycling - Leaders: - Alberta and Don G. We will continue our excellent recycling program.
- Energy Conservation. Larry E. has just completed a thorough audit of our energy usage. This has been submitted to our Site Development committee for evaluation and action.
